Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our services, pricing, and processes.
What types of scrap metal do you accept?
We accept a wide variety of scrap metals including ferrous metals (steel, iron, cast iron), non-ferrous metals (copper, aluminium, brass, bronze, lead, zinc), automotive parts (catalytic converters, radiators, engines), and electronic components. We also handle industrial equipment, appliances, and construction materials.
How do you determine scrap metal prices?
Our pricing is based on current market rates from the London Metal Exchange (LME) and domestic markets. Prices fluctuate daily based on global demand, material grade, quantity, and purity. We provide competitive, transparent pricing and can offer price quotes valid for specific timeframes for large quantities.
Do you offer pickup services?
Yes, we provide comprehensive pickup services across Melbourne, including Kilsyth and surrounding suburbs. We offer scheduled pickups for regular customers, on-demand collection for one-off jobs, and emergency services for urgent situations. Our fleet includes various truck sizes to accommodate different load requirements.
What is your minimum quantity for pickup?
Our minimum pickup quantity varies by material type and location. As a general guide, we require around 250 kg for standard pickups, but we can accommodate smaller quantities for regular customers or when combined with other nearby pickups. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
How quickly can you schedule a pickup?
For standard pickups, we typically schedule within 24–48 hours. Emergency services are available 24/7 with response times of 2–4 hours depending on location and material type. Regular customers can establish recurring pickup schedules for consistent service.
Do you provide containers for scrap collection?
Yes, we offer a range of hook-lift and skip bin sizes including 3m³, 6m³, 10m³, 12m³, 15m³, 20m³ and 30m³ for ongoing projects. We also provide smaller bins and drums for specific materials like copper or aluminium. Container hire includes delivery, pickup and disposal.
What documentation do you require?
For all transactions, we require valid government-issued photo ID. Commercial customers should provide ABN/ACN details. For certain materials like catalytic converters or large quantities of copper, additional documentation may be required to comply with Victorian and Australian regulations.
How do you ensure accurate weights and fair payment?
All our scales are NMI-certified (National Measurement Institute) and regularly verified. Customers can observe the weighing process, and we provide detailed weight tickets for all transactions. Payment is calculated based on net weight after deducting for containers or non-metallic materials.
What payment methods do you accept?
We offer multiple payment options including cash (within legal limits), EFT/bank transfer, company cheque, and for regular commercial customers, we can establish credit accounts with net payment terms. GST-compliant invoices are provided for all transactions.
Are you environmentally compliant?

We do not accept hazardous materials, radioactive substances, or materials containing asbestos. We can, however, process items like batteries and e‑waste through approved programs that ensure safe handling, disposal, and recycling in accordance with Victorian guidelines.
Can you handle large industrial or demolition projects?
Yes, we specialise in large-scale projects including industrial cleanouts, building demolitions, and plant closures. We can provide project management, multiple container placements, and coordinated pickup schedules to meet project timelines and budget requirements.
